How to convert a Chase statement: 3 steps

1

Download the PDF

Log in at chase.com, open the account, choose Statements (not Activity), and save the month you need. Chase keeps up to 7 years of statements online.

2

Drop it above

The parser reads the transaction table locally and shows a preview of every row: date, description, amount, and balance.

Chase statement formats, by account type

Chase doesn't use one statement layout — it uses several. Knowing which one you have explains most conversion quirks:

Account typeDate styleAmount columnsRunning balanceNotes
Total Checking / SavingsMM/DD/YYYYSingle signed columnYesCleanest layout; parses best
Sapphire / Freedom cardsMM/DDSingle signed columnNoRows grouped under Purchases, Payments, Fees, Interest
Ink BusinessMM/DDSeparate debit/creditNoMay include employee-card subtotals
Combined statementsMM/DD/YYYYPer account sectionPer sectionEach account appears as its own block

Why convert the PDF instead of using Chase's own export?

Chase's Activity-page download is convenient but limited: it covers roughly 24 months, silently truncates at 1,000 rows, and exports a live transaction feed rather than the official statement — no opening/closing balance to reconcile against. The statement PDF goes back up to 7 years and carries the balance data that makes reconciliation possible, which is exactly what the parser above reads.

Reconciliation tip: after import, check that the last row's balance matches the statement's closing balance. If it does, every row in between extracted correctly.

Chase conversion FAQ

How do I convert a Chase bank statement PDF to CSV?

Download the statement PDF from chase.com, drop it into the converter at the top of this page, and click Download CSV. The file is parsed inside your browser and never uploaded, so the whole process takes under a minute.

Can Chase statements be downloaded as CSV directly?

Partially. Chase's Activity page exports roughly the last 24 months of transactions and truncates at 1,000 rows. Statement PDFs go back up to 7 years and include opening and closing balances, which is why converting the PDF is the better route for older data.

Does it work with Chase credit card statements?

Yes. Sapphire, Freedom, and Ink Business statements all parse. Card statements group transactions into sections like purchases and payments; the parser reads rows from each section and exports them as one continuous table.

Is my Chase statement data safe here?

Yes — the statement is processed by JavaScript on your own device and never uploaded to any server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and conversion still works.
